- Floyd Mayweather receives notice of the start of legal proceedings.
Last Sunday, President Claudia Sheinbaum was able to overcome the failure and lack of seriousness of boxer Floyd Mayweather, who canceled the open boxing training session on the Zócalo square in May 2024.
While this Sunday, under the leadership of Mauricio Sulaiman and the World Boxing Council, Julio César Chávez, Oscar de la Hoya, and Manos de Piedra Duran participated, more than 40,000 attendees participated on the esplanade of Mexico City’s Zócalo square.
Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that young people say no to drugs and that boxing is a refuge where young people find discipline and training that allows them to overcome addictions and the disorientation of youth.
While this was happening in Mexico, in California, United States, Floyd Mayweather, Jona Rechnitz and the company High Roller Entertainment received notification of the start of legal proceedings for breach of the Exhibition Contract entered into with the promoter Interdipce Publicidad S.A. de C.V.
Mayweather’s failures included not only his failure to attend the open training session at the Zócalo stadium, but also his failure to attend the press conference attended by more than 120 media outlets and his commitment to exceed 30,000 pay-per-views.
Floyd Mayweather is currently facing a lawsuit in California from employees of his businesses, unlike almost all major athletes.
